Bengaluru

Overview

Introduction

Previously known for its public gardens, Bengaluru (or Bangalore, as the city was previously known) is reputed for its booming software industry. Visitors should plan at least two days to see the city, located 530 mi/855 km southeast of Mumbai.

The town has a large Anglo-Indian minority and is considerably more Westernized than many Indian cities; however, the city's infrastructure has not yet caught up with the fast growth of the city, and this is especially felt while driving. It also boasts one of the most pleasant climates of any city in the country and has an international airport.
