In 2021, As-Salt was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list bringing Jordan’s list of UNESCO sites to six. As-Salt has long been a place of tolerance and urban hospitality. The city’s non-segregated development reflects the community’s tolerance between Muslims and Christians that dates back to the Ottoman period.
