AmaWaterways Expands Wellness Program Fleetwide

AmaWaterways announced the expansion of its popular Wellness Program, which will go fleetwide across Europe and Southeast Asia in 2019. Led by professionally trained Wellness Hosts, guests are invited to take part in a journey that nourishes the mind, body, and spirit.

"The Wellness Program is very close to my heart, as I believe so strongly in the importance of integrating regular exercise and healthy eating into our day-to-day lives, and it shouldn't have to stop while having fun on vacation," said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. "I have had the pleasure of working with our Sports Scientist and Corporate Wellness Host, Selina Wank, over the past two years, where together we successfully piloted our first program onboard AmaLyra in 2017. This year, we brought on six new Wellness Hosts, and we are all very much looking forward to the continued excitement as more travelers are able to experience our Wellness Program in 2019 and beyond!"

The Wellness Program is led by a dedicated Wellness Host on each ship, who is committed to inspiring individuals to mindfully achieve their fitness goals. During their cruise, guests will have the opportunity to participate in group fitness classes – such as stretching, core strengthening, and resistance band training – and informative lectures and discussions related to holistic wellness. Additional Signature classes like yoga, Pilates, and circuit training may also be offered. On shore, guests can take part in active excursions including guided hiking, biking, and running outings.

"Having the ability to exercise on the sundeck while cruising through the beautiful rivers of Europe and Asia is a very unique opportunity that not many people get to experience," said Selina. "I am so proud to be part of this industry-leading program and even more importantly, to share my passion for health and wellness with those who travel onboard our ships."

AmaWaterways' Wellness Program is a recent addition to the company's long-time health and fitness offerings, including a fleet of complimentary bicycles onboard, a fitness room, pool, and walking track, as well as a massage room and hydration station available 24/7 featuring infused citrus and gemstone waters to cleanse the body of toxins.

In 2019, guests onboard AmaMagna will have access to the Zen Wellness Studio, lending more space for group fitness classes, lectures, and personal training sessions.
