Losinj Island

Losinj Island

Overview

Introduction

Long, narrow Losinj Island is joined by a small bridge to neighboring Cres Island (the two are actually a single island divided by a narrow artificial channel). Take in the wonderfully scenic drive down the length of both islands to the old Hapsburg resort town of Mali Losinj and to medieval Veli Losinj just beyond. Modern hotels are nestled in a pine forest west of Mali Losinj, and the surrounding waters are clear and bracing. The Cikat cove is intimately beautiful and offers numerous luxury hotels emphasizing spa treatments.

Losinj Island is 115 mi/185 km southwest of Zagreb.
