Overview

Introduction

Sayun (pop. 20,000) is the best place to stay while visiting the Hadramawt Mountains area. In town, see the Sultan's Palace, which is now a museum exhibiting archaeological remains, coins from the days of the sultans and displays with themes such as marriage, birth and Arab medicine. The city's thousands of palm trees give it a classic oasis atmosphere. Other town attractions include its several mosques and markets. Allow one day. 340 mi/ 550 km northeast of Aden.
