Dakhla

Overview

Introduction

Far south of El Ayoune on the Atlantic coast, Dakhla is in an isolated area in the Western Sahara being developed as a beach and watersports resort (its favorable winds are great for kitesurfing) and sea-bass fishing center. Though easily accessible by air, it's in a politically unstable area, so check with your embassy first to see if it's safe to visit. Dakhla is on the coast, 600 mi/965 km south of Agadir.
