Overview

Introduction

In Harvard, Massachusetts, you will find the Fruitlands Museum, a small farmhouse complex that began as a utopian "New Eden" co-founded by transcendentalist Bronson Alcott (Louisa May's father). Exhibits include Shaker furniture and crafts, Native American artifacts and a gallery featuring New England landscape paintings by Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church and Albert Bierstadt. For respite and repast, there's a tearoom and picnic tables. Don't miss the Fruitlands' expansive views of the Nashoba Valley from Prospect Hill.
